Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the questions I’m often asked…

How much will my new website cost?

The price will depend on the size and complexity of your project. Contact me with your specific requirements to get an accurate, obligation-free quote.

How long will it take to create my website?

The timescale is determined by the size and complexity of your project. A simple web presence may only take 2-3 weeks to go live, whereas a more in-depth site may take 2-3 months.

Can we meet up to discuss the project before starting?

Yes. I’m happy to meet clients in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

What are the development stages during the project?

First of all, we’ll discuss your requirements. I will then spend some time producing a mockup of how I envisage the homepage should look. I’ll make edits until you are happy with how it looks. The design of the rest of the site will be determined by (and be consistent with) the look and feel of the homepage. I’ll then install WordPress on your web hosting account and start coding the theme. Once development is complete, your site will be tested on various devices of different sizes before launching.

Can you create a logo/business identity for my company?

Yes. If your business doesn’t have a logo/identity, I can create one as part of the project.

Can you write the site content for me?

No. I don’t offer copywriting as a service. The best person to write about your business is the person that knows your business best.

Will I be able to update my website by myself?

Yes. WordPress comes with a web-based Content Management System meaning you can update the site content yourself without the need for any coding knowledge.

How does your web maintenance option work?

Once your website has gone live, if you don’t have the time to update it or would rather someone else updated it for you, for a monthly fee, I will update your site content as often as is required (this option doesn’t include redesigning the site).

Do I need to provide you with photos for my new site?

No. Any pertinent photos are useful, but if you don’t have access to any, I can use relevant stock photos. The cost of the stock photos will be discussed with you before purchasing them to ensure you’re happy with the cost.

Can you advise me on buying a domain and web hosting?

Yes. I can recommend where to purchase your domain and high speed web hosting.

What do I need to get my project started?

To get started, please send me your requirements via the Contact page. Once we’ve agreed on a price/timescale, I will need your site copy, logo (if you have one) and any relevant photos you may have to begin.
